The town of Jevicko is situated in the south-east part of the Pardubice Region. Jevicko was part of the Great Moravian Empire in the 9th and early 10th century, and at various times was under the control of one or the other of Boskovice or Olomouc. In 1258, Jevicko received its city charter, from Ottokar, then ruler of Moravia. In 1291, his son Wenceslaus II gave Jevicko jurisdiction over the thirteen surrounding villages. The town centre includes a square from which there are roads to four cardinal points. Circular streets enclose the centre.
